About Coach Daily:
I am a graduate of Midway High School in Waco, TX and alumni of Texas A&M where I played softball on athletic scholarship. This my 19th year teaching and my 13th as an elementary PE teacher. I am married to David Daily with two children, Garity who is 19 and Gavin who is 16. Garity is a graduate of Montgomery high school Class of 2022. He was very involved in the track program as a discus thrower and even made an appearance at the Regional Finals his senior year! He will graduate from Air Force Basic Military Training in two weeks! My youngest son, Gavin is a sophomore at Montgomery High School. He is involved in JROTC with plans to join the Marines after graduation. He is also involved with the track program and does many events for the team such as hurdles, long jump, sprint relays, and shot put and discus. I am currently the Physical Education teacher at Madeley Ranch Elementary in Montgomery, TX. My Teaching Philosophy: My general teaching philosophy is that teaching is a gift as well as a call to service. I believe that successful teachers maintain a balance between their knowledge of content and their ability to form relationships built on trust and compassion. My PE teaching philosophy is that there is an athlete in everyone and that my job is to bring it out or enhance it. Experience I have experience teaching at the elementary, intermediate, middle school, and high school level. I have even coached at the collegiate level. This will be my 11th year teaching PE and my 17th year teaching. I am certified in 4-8th Generalist, 8-12 Life Science, pk-6th Elementary Education & K-12 Physical Education. I developed a program called HOPE and ROPE that compels almost 100% participation in PE activities. In addition, I have written a two year rotational curriculum designed for 3rd grade and up called “Find My Fitness.” This curriculum allows my students to experience as many fitness opportunities as I can find. I have learned from my students that fitness and sports are not synonymous. I have been nominated and elected as an A+ Teacher of the Year and was nominated again two years later. I come to school everyday with intent. Intent to inspire and improve my students, my colleagues and myself. Intent to serve. Hobbies and Likes/Loves: I LOVE Harry Potter and I LOVE to read! I fell in love with the books while in college. I really admire the author's imagination as well as her positive message in each book. I introduced my mom and my grandmother to the books which instantly turned us all into our own little book club. We would talk for hours about the book we had just read and about our theories for what will be in the next book. Due to that bond, the Harry Potter books are very special to me. I LOVE to work out when I have the time. I have been an athlete my whole life and I can't imagine that I will ever stop being one. I LOVE to cook, mostly healthy meals, but also Sunday baking with my two boys. I LIKE to restore. I like to see something that may be junk to others, but with a little creativity and some elbow grease, become a gem to me. I LIKE computer games. I have quite a bit of nerd in me (which I am proud of) therefore I enjoy playing MMORPGs from time to time. I LOVE sports! My favorite time of year is football season and I get to see my Aggies play! I LOVE to travel! I am very much an adventure vacationer who enjoys exploring new places and new things to eat. I am a HUGE fan of Disney World and Universal Studios. |
